The Training and Certification Section offers continuing education for those interested in code enforcement pertaining to fire prevention. This training is held at the South Carolina Fire Academy and at many of the locations listed below. Please check the SC Fire Portal for the dates and locations and to register for course code to 8595/8596 - Fire Codes and Standards Training.
International Code Council (ICC) certificate holders are required to obtain a specified number of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every three years in order to maintain their certifications. A portion of these CEUs must be obtained through Preferred Provider or ICC Training or both. The South Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal is an ICC Preferred Provider: http://ppp.iccsafe.org/
